Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre continues to be committed to providing quality patient care through the development of Clinical Pathways. Clinical Pathways are multi-disciplinary plans incorporating best clinical practice for specified groups of patients with a particular diagnosis.

Some Clinical Pathways may extend to other healthcare facilities such as rehabilitation units or out into the community for continued care. They have a focus on quality and coordination of care. All members of the health care team, as well as the patient and their family, are educated as to the expected course of treatment. The "path" is used as a communication tool between the health care team and the patient.
