The Volunteer Association is an invaluable partner of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Association members serve in many areas of the hospital providing compassionate and caring support to patients, families and visitors.

In addition, the Association is a major fundraising contributor to TBRHSC. They own and operate Seasons Gift Shop and HAAO Nevada and OLG Ticket Centre. Seasons is greatly appreciated and by patients, families, visitors and staff.

During the year, members are highly involved in various fundraisers, namely the Sweet Chocolate Thursday, Strawberry Social, Spaghetti Supper, Two-Bit Auction, Quilt Raffle, and the Christmas Bazaar. These events result in significant funds raised annually by the Association. Funds are used to enhance patient care, and purchase equipment to support the needs of the Health Sciences Centre.

The Volunteer Association is fully incorporated and is governed by a twelve member Board of Directors. The Association Executive provides leadership and direction for its mandate of service and fundraising.

Samples of Fundraising Endeavours of the Volunteer Association

	“Strawberry Social” Every June, a group of Volunteers host the annual “Strawberry Social”. Staff, volunteers and hospital visitors look forward to Short Cake, topped with real strawberries and, of course, real whipping cream. It is a delightful treat enjoyed by many.
	“Sweet Chocolate Thursday” In February, just in time for Valentine's Day, the Volunteers present Sweet Chololate Thursday. Delicious treats are available on Level 2, adjacent to Seasons Gift Shop.
	“Volunteer Bazaar and Bake Sale” Every Fall, the Volunteer Association host their annual bazaar. Lots of great crafts and holiday baking can be found.
