Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre has received notice from Accreditation Canada that we have been accredited for a three-year
period. This Accreditation means that our organization meets national standards of quality for health services set by Accreditation
Canada. Acute care hospitals are measured against a rigorous set of Quality Dimensions as well as Standards and TBRHSC has exceeded
the national compliance rates of other hospitals in all categories.
It must also be mentioned that TBRHSC has been acknowledged by Accreditation Canada for Leading Practices. Accreditation Canada has
commended TBRHSC on the Cardiac Rehabilitation via Telemedicine Program. This Program has been acknowledged for the providing of Cardiac
Rehabilitation in Telemedicine throughout the North Western Region and was sited as an “impressive practice” by Accreditation
Canada for which the organization received a Provincial Award.
The organization has now reached a milestone in the Accreditation process. We once again congratulate all the individuals who have
been a part of this important journey. All members of the Organization are commended for their continued efforts in “Caring Together”.
Through their commitment to Patient and Family Centred Care, we have been able to further increase our strengths and quality improvements
for patient initiatives. The ongoing improvements will continue to benefit the patients, staff, community and organization by providing
the excellent standard of care that we are proud of.
