Click to listen to this page using ReadPlease Ron Saddington, President & CEO has announced he is planning to retire in 2010 after many years at the helm of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Ingrid Parkes, Chair of the Board, said, "even though the Board has known of Mr. Saddington's plans to retire, we are sorry to hear of his decision. He has done a superb job of leading us through enormous changes over the past several years, including the construction of our new facility. We will miss his leadership. He obviously leaves a great organizational legacy for his successor. With that in mind, as we move forward, it is essential that we use a disciplined approach to selecting our new President & CEO, considering input from our stakeholders".

Ron Nelson has been appointed Chair of the newly created Search Committee of the Board. He says, "as we consult with respected professionals, we are identifying the competencies required of our President & CEO. It is a challenging task. However, as part of our efforts, during the month of October, we will be seeking stakeholder and public input. For example, key stakeholder meetings will be organized and a special web page will be developed as we seek public input to our selection criteria. In the meantime, we congratulate Ron Saddington on his decision to retire next year, and we look forward to a great year at TBRHSC under his leadership".
