It is an understatement - so much was accomplished at TBRHSC
last year. To put it simply, congratulations to everyone who
helped our collective vision for acute healthcare become a
reality. Together, we did it. We moved into the new state-of-the-art
Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Beyond the scope of one person, one team, one department,
and one organization, TBRHSC developed successful partnerships
to advance healthcare for the region. And, we are excited
to say that we are not finished. The coming year promises
great things, again.
Just ahead of us is the daunting task of training medical
students. The Northern Ontario School of Medicine takes its
first students this fall. Soon, we will have physicians trained
here in Northwestern Ontario looking after us in our time
of need.
As well, a partnership has been formed to have a third CT
Scan provide diagnostic images. Decreasing waiting times and
enhancing patient care is the issue. Far-reaching in scope,
the electronic medical record strategy continues to roll out
to the region providing physicians, patients, and families
information in a precise and timely manner.
As we look to the future, we do it by extolling the fine
work of the many people who volunteer their services and work
selflessly for the Foundations and Associations to support
and fund our many treatment modalities. Your efforts enable
our exceptional healthcare teams to join with others to effectively
deliver care. Partnerships work.
Thanks for your continued support.
