The Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) at TBRHSC provides services
for seven separate clinics:
- Fracture Clinic
- Medical Surgical (Minor Medical/Surgical Procedures)
- PICC Line Services
ACU is primarily an outpatient unit for patients who do not
require admission for their procedures and tests. Specialists
at each clinic rely on ACU to coordinate a variety of TBRHSC
resources including Nursing and Support Staff, special equipment
and examination rooms, X-ray, and lab tests for procedures
that need to be performed in a hospital setting.
ACU operates completely on a referral basis, and appointments
to all clinics are made directly through the physicians’
offices (with the exception of the Fracture Clinic which accepts
referrals from Emergency Physicians). Patients do not directly
book appointments with ACU.
Hours of operation of ACU depend on volume and the day of
the week, but generally reception is open from 7:30 a.m. -
4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Individual clinics within ACU
operate on their own schedules.
ACU is located on Level 2 of TBRHSC.
