Oncology In-patient - Nursing Service

Click to listen to this page using ReadPleaseOf great importance to the Oncology Inpatient Program is our specially trained oncology nursing staff. Patients with cancer present with a varied list of complex needs that require the Oncology Nurses to have specialized training, knowledge and skills. Oncology prepared nurses are trained to care for patients as they present with any oncology conditions that warrant an inpatient stay.

Oncology patient care, from diagnosis through to palliation or survivorship, requires excellence in the practice of oncology nursing, in order to ensure that the provided care is safe, consistent, respectful, ethical and in accordance with standards of practice. The Oncology Nurse evaluates the care delivered and is responsible and accountable for professional practice.
