Library Services

The Library functions as an integral part of the hospital by providing an active and professional service in support of patient care, education and research needs. The department provides service to all hospital staff and students on placement.

The Library was previously a joint effort between the Northwestern Ontario regional cancer centre and the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital. The Library operated as a joint library from 1994 until the Northwestern Ontario Cancer Centre integrated with the hospital in January 2004.

The Library staff can help you gain access to online resources and provide you with searches, journal reprints, books, reference materials or search skills. An online catalogue can be accessed from any location in the hospital via the hospital intranet. The catalogue is a joint catalogue with St. Joseph’s Care Group and other community partners.
