The
fully accredited is
under the jurisdiction of Riverside Health Care Facilities,
which also governs La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances and
Rainy River Health Centre in Rainy River.
Our 15-bed facility is equipped to provide primary care services for a catchment area to an excess of 4,000 people. There are five acute care beds and ten chronic care beds. A comprehensive range of ambulatory services to provided, including minor surgical procedures under local anaesthesia and urgent care. As well, outpatient clinics for Chiropody, breast education, day hospital, physiotherapy, Community Mental Health, Nutritional Counseling and diabetes location. X-ray services including intravenous pyelograms are available.
The community is served by a volunteer ambulance department and complimented by full-time EMCA’s during day-time hours and as need hours. Secondary care provided at La Veredyere (93 beds including intensive care and 32-bed continuing care ward). Tertiary care is readily accessed by physician referral to Thunder Bay or Winnipeg.
Home care, public health, home support, dental, physiotherapy, optometry, adult/geriatric daycare, mental health offices are next to the clinic and chiropody, nutritional counseling and diabetes counsel, visits regularly.
The Emo Clinic which operates within the hospital has facilities for three general practitioners with complete
clerical and bookkeeping support. A small laboratory facilities blood sampling and simple urinalysis; samples are sent to Fort Frances for prompt results.
